SNAP is seeking a qualified individual for a Loan Officer to join the dynamic Financial Stability department.

Salary for this position is $4494-$5055 per month
Full pay range is $4494-$5913 per month
Position Summary: Responsible for generating and closing new mission-based commercial and residential loans. Service a loan portfolio that meets SNAP Financial Access (SFA) mission, and financial and risk goals. Partner with entities that serve similar markets and participate in outreach efforts to grow loan portfolio within mission objectives. Contribute to the body of knowledge, sharing best practices and suggest process improvement ideas. Track and report activities as required by Core Director.
- Actively prospect for strategic commercial loan opportunities from multiple sources to achieve a diversified loan mix and department target through strong relationship building.
- Obtain and compile financial information to evaluate loan applications and their risk.
- Evaluate loan requests, and negotiate loan terms and conditions. Prepare loan proposals, executive summaries and possess an understanding of financial analysis.
- Supervise lending staff including participating in the selection of new staff, training, evaluating performance, coaching and encouraging professional development.
- Actively prospect and produce loans while working with other lenders and providers within SFA mission objectives to achieve department capital deployment volume targets.
- Performs pre and post-technical assistance for all applicable clients including clients that do not end up applying for an SFA or SBA loan. This will include assessing client training needs, evaluating and supporting the creation of their business plan, creating the cash flow and referring to underwriting for financial analysis.
- Complete data entry, track and report activities and complete reports.
- Work with Director, Financial Stability team, communications and other SNAP programs to develop and lead the implementation of an Outreach Strategy that achieves SNAP Financial Access loan production and mission goals.
- Effectively use technology tools to perform required duties. Complete all documentation to prepare the loan package including the loan proposal.
- Analyze the cash flow projection, complete collateral evaluations, verify permits as required to prepare loans for approval.
- Participate in loan collection and enforcement actions when necessary.
- Works with coworkers and volunteers to promote a positive, respectful, and productive working environment, while protecting client confidentiality and dignity.
- Provides excellent customer service at all times as well as helps to grow the customer service culture within the agency.

Requirements:
Education and Experience
- Required: Bachelors degree in business or related field, 2 years experience in business ownership or management. A combination of 7 years of small business and commercial lending, education, and experience may substitute.
- Preferred: Some combination of education and experience totaling 10 years experience in business ownership or lending and experience counseling low-income business owners.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to empathize with and advocate for low-income and vulnerable people, and to maintain confidentiality with personal information
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) and personal interaction skills, with emphasis on working with a multi-cultural client population as well as with partners and funders.
- Knowledge of local social service, financial service and employment-related organizations and resources.
- Commercial and residential lending experience or knowledge
- Knowledge of business development process and business management best practices
- Demonstrated ability to keep organized and detailed records
- Computer proficiency in word processing, excel, email, data entry and query, and internet applications
Training and Certifications
- Valid drivers license, satisfactory driving record, insurance, and personal vehicle for Agency business (mileage reimbursed)
Work Environment/Physical Activities:
Work is generally sedentary, performed in an office environment. Some local travel required. Domestic travel, typically by air, may be required for meetings and seminars
