What are the responsibilities and job description for the IS Support Specialist position at Spokane Transit Authority?
Spokane Transit is in the middle of a dynamic 10-year plan called STA Moving Forward. The purpose of this plan is to maintain, improve, and expand transit services throughout Spokane County to meet the needs of our growing community. We are looking for a customer service driven full-time PC Specialist to meet our growing needs in our Information Services Department.
As an IS Support Specialist you will provide technical support in conjunction with STA systems to include; installation, maintenance and repair of the Spokane Transit’s desktop computers, printers, phones, related peripheral hardware, software, cameras, signs and other hardware devices. In addition, this position will deliver excellent customer service for desktop end users.

YOU HAVE
- An Associate’s Degree in MIS, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Considerable knowledge of current Microsoft Office and Office 365 products.
- Experience maintaining personal computers and applications.
- Experience helping users in an enterprise network environment.
- Considerable knowledge of diagnostic work and repairs to PC hardware.
- Knowledge of installation and support of current versions of Microsoft Windows.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Install, maintain, diagnose and repair personal computers, printers, IP phones, peripheral equipment and software.
- Respond to user inquiries related computer workstations, applications, and system logins.
- Install and configure application software and device drivers on computer workstations.
- Configure and install personal computers, printers and peripheral equipment.
- Provide basic user training on the proper use of office software applications.
- Basic system setup in conjunction with software upgrades and system changes.
- Facilitate in-house user and computer support between departments
- Serve as an intermediary between the Information Services Department and various transit users.
