Exchange Developer

POSITION TITLE: Trading Systems Developer

Location: Camden Waterfront, NJ or Remote

Purpose:

Reporting to the Exchange Technology Lead, the Trading Systems Developer will:

• Play a major role in implementing strategic and tactical goals
• Contribute to  development and upkeep of the Exchange services
• Broaden skill inventory of the team in order to build, enhance, and maintain the SLA of the most critical core component of Sporttrade’s business offerings, the sport gaming exchange

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and implement algorithm and integration code for the matching engine application for Sporttrade Exchange

• Contribute innovation in our ongoing development of the Sporttrade Exchange technology

• Partner with business, support, and other development teams to achieve cohesive solutions
• Enhance architecture, standards, integration, and code health
• Ongoing support of the Exchange code base
  
  

Required skills:

• Proficiency in programming in one or more of the following object oriented languages: Kotlin, Java, and/or C .
• Experience in one or more of the following scripting languages: Python, Perl, and/or shell (bsh or bash)
• Thorough knowledge of TCP and UDP protocol, especially multicasting
• Well versed in Linux architecture, services, facilities, and virtualization environments, such as VM’s and Dockers
• Tool experiences in git (github), Jenkins, and Cucumber/Gherkin, and other CI/CD tools 
• Experience with messaging middleware; Kafka will be a big plus
• Hands-on work with of the major SQL databases is a big plus, but NoSQL knowledge or data structure/datastore is acceptable

Qualifications:

• 2 years of professional experience using the stated skill set
• Demonstrable experience in a role that supports trading, portfolio management, exchange, or a fintech and the ability to verbalize the domain knowledge gained a plus
• Exceptional quantitative and analytical skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with evidence of product documentation
• Keen to learn and open to collaboration
• Employment is contingent on candidate’s ability to undergo, pass and maintain required registration as mandated by state gaming regulations
