Who You Are
We are looking for a motivated Logistic Coordinator to join our brand new state-of-the-art freeze drying facility in Allentown, PA! In this role, you will play a critical role in the safe, efficient production of high-quality, fresh, human-grade pet food. Reporting to the Plant Manager and working cross functionally with plant leadership and the Strategic Operations team, the Logistics Coordinator will ensure our facility has all raw materials and supplies required for production and ships finished goods on time. You will also be responsible for scheduling, tracking, and reporting on freight across the broader supply chain. This job requires strong communication, analytical, interpersonal, and team building skills to support site objectives
Responsibilities:
- Manage plant inventory across raw materials, supplies, chemicals, and finished goods while supporting Strategic Operations with company-wide logistics and freight booking
- Coordinate all inbound and outbound logistics across the plant, suppliers, contract manufacturers, off-site warehousing, and 3PL partner
- Prepare and maintain warehouse productivity reports, shipping documents, pick/load slips and various other shipping office paperwork
- Schedule receiving appointments to ensure efficient and on-time delivery of goods
- Count and inspect incoming materials to ensure the correct quantity has been received and there has been no damage in shipping
- Assist with receiving quality tests (e.g., product and trailer temperature, taking samples for testing)
- Coordinate shift shipping and receiving activities at the plant including: inventory availability, checking drivers in and out, prepare pick slips and BOLs for shipment, and aiding loaders in locating product
- Always prioritize product quality and food safety when shipping or receiving product, and report on any general observations that may impact workplace or food safety at the plant
- Other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications
Must Have
- B.S./BA in business, engineering, or related field
- 1-3 years of experience in logistics or warehouse operations
- Excellent attention to detail
- Proficient with standard standard desktop systems (e.g., ERP, WMS, Microsoft Office)
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
Nice to Have
- B.S./B.A in Supply Chain & Logistics or related field
- Working knowledge of Lean/TPM manufacturing principles
- Working knowledge of HACCP and GMPs
- Previous forklift experience
- 1 years of experience in food production
Physical Requirements
- Physical Demands: lifting and lowering up to 50 pounds, reaching, standing, walking, stooping, crawling, twisting, working in high elevations (above 6 feet)
- Ability to work with allergens that might be present in food environment
- Ability to work in hot, cold, noisy, dusty, and wet environmental working conditions
- Able to wear safety PPE (hard hat, body harness, face shield, steel-toed boots)
- Able to adhere to GMP requirements (hair/beard nets, uniforms, hygiene)
