Payroll Analyst

POSITION PURPOSE
As a Payroll Analyst at SpotOn you will be responsible for a variety of payroll related tasks including preparing payroll audits, creating reports, and advising the payroll department on complex transactions. You may also coordinate with other departments such as Finance and communicate any changes in payroll to employees. This role may also assist with other HR service requests. This position can be located in our San Francisco office or our Southfield, Michigan office.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Review payroll data and documents to input into payroll system, ensuring all amounts are accurate based on employment records
- Turn information from a variety of sources into meaningful and manageable data
- Assist with generating payroll reports and audits as needed
- Develop and advise management on recommendations for process improvements
- May assist with Verification of Employment and similar requests
- May assist with onboarding and offboarding tasks
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Demonstrated expertise with MS Office and Google applications including spreadsheets, presentations and collaboration tools
- Demonstrated sense of urgency and client-centric approach to work
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to spot numerical errors
- Familiarity with HRIS systems
- Solid written and verbal communication skills
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- 3+ years in an HR or Payroll functional role
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree; will consider equivalent work experience in lieu of degree
- High School diploma
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position a minimum of 50% of the workday
- The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
- Occasionally lifts and carries equipment or packages in the office weighing up to 20 pounds
