What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Software Engineer (Back End) position at Spring Health?

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join our Caregiver Experience Organization. The team is responsible for the application used by all of Spring Health’s providers and is foundational to Spring Health. You will be an important thought leader in creating a great experience for our providers, you will help to define our product and engineering roadmaps, and you will work as part of a cross-functional product team to find elegant solutions to mental healthcare’s many problems. Additionally, you will guide the growth of the engineering team as a senior member.
What You’ll be Doing:
- Backend Development: Leverage your experience with Ruby on Rails to refactor and optimize our core scheduling paths, ensuring scalability and maintainability.
- Data Architecture: Design data models that support efficient scheduling flows, capable of adapting to future needs with the ability to scale.
- Quality Assurance: Craft and execute comprehensive tests to ensure the integrity of our systems.
- Observability and Monitoring: Implement comprehensive observability and monitoring to ensure the success and reliability of our scheduling systems. Enhance our ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Mentoring Engineers: As a senior member, you will mentor other engineers in the organization. Including sharing knowledge, guiding in best practices, and fostering a collaborative and growth oriented environment.
- Product Collaboration: Work closely with product managers and designers to develop exceptional user experiences, with a specific focus on delivering value to our provider network.
What we expect from you:
- 5 years of professional development experience
- Experience with React & Redux
- Experience with Graphql API design
- Experience with Ruby on Rails

The target salary range for this position is $159,100 - $194,150, and is part of a competitive total rewards package including stock options, benefits, and incentive pay for eligible roles. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations. We review all employee pay and compensation programs annually at minimum to ensure competitive and fair pay.
