Who We Are:
The Springfield City School District, home to The John Legend Theatre, is seeking an Attendance Officer for the 2023-2024 school year. We are a nationally ranked Division I District serving approximately 7,500 Pre-K through grade 12 students, in a vibrant learning community of 17 state of the art buildings in west-central Ohio. As a Attendance Officer, you are required to:
- Possess a High School Diploma
- Possess a valid Ohio driver's license
- Technology skills to maintain student attendance records
- Work collaboratively with assigned building staff and Clark County Juvenile Court
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Law Enforcement or Probation background
- Working Knowledge of school setting preferred.
- Training and/or experience in computers and office practices and procedures
As a Attendance Officer, you will:
- Provide ongoing assessment of the attendance records of the Springfield City School District students
- Make home visits as needed for follow up investigation, verifications or delivery of notices
- Coordinate and/or assist with interventions, mediations and filing charges when applicable
- Represent the District in court hearings and proceedings arising from truancy issues
- Maintain attendance/truancy records for students during the school year
- Perform other duties as assigned
What We Offer:
- As a contracted employee, this position is assigned to work 183 days per year and 8 hours per day.
Salary starting at: $33,123.00, increases depending upon experience and education. Details are available within the SASO/SAST Agreement.
