Make a significant impact on the quality of life for our patients/residents as a Housekeeping Director. You will be responsible for directing the Housekeeping program to ensure clean, safe, sanitary, orderly, and attractive conditions of the nursing center by performing duties personally or through leading, guiding and directing staff.
Position Highlights
  • Position is part of the nursing center leadership team and reports to the Nursing Home Administrator/Executive Director.
  • Manage the Supervisor of Housekeeping and the nursing centers' housekeeping and laundry operations as well as staff.
  • Maintain the master cleaning plan for the nursing center ensuring cleaning protocols are met. *Assure that staff work schedules are planned at least one week in advance and comply with the labor budget. *Assure that copies of current service contracts, operating and service manuals, and all warranty information are properly filed and accessible. *Ensure that supplies are ordered in a timely manner, inventoried quarterly, and stored in a secure area. *Assure that a written key control policy is in place and consistently followed. Checks out keys to housekeeping aides for apartments they have cleaning responsibility for only. *Educate staff on infection control, disposal of hazardous waste and safety procedures for refilling self-dispensing chemicals to comply with Genesis policy.
Qualifications: 1. Must have demonstrated leadership skills in managing a housekeeping staff experience and be sensitive to elders and disabled individuals. 2. High school degree or equivalent is required, along with management and/or supervisory skills training and experience. 3. Experience in supplies ordering and cleaning equipment operation is preferred.
