GENERAL PURPOSE
This position is responsible for implementation of the eSports league of the Athletic Program. Uses sound instructional techniques in overseeing program activities; serving as a positive role model to students; and serving as a liaison for the district and program with other schools, the community and various organizations. Also responsible for transportation and maintenance of district laptops.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Control and moderate SPS eSports for designated high school facility.
- Set and assign roles, permissions and all other administrative functions within the SPS eSports program for designated high school facility.
- Enforce discipline arising from inappropriate behavior and breaches in school and SPS eSports code of conduct.
- Recruit participants; develop team rosters; and schedule practices, scrimmages, and games.
- In accordance with the Athletics and Business Services office, help develop funding opportunities and grant writing.
- Communicate with opposing coaches to confirm times, etc.
- Establish a training regime appropriate for game title.
- Teach communication skills and cooperative gameplay styles.
- Learn the assigned game well enough to know the basics and win conditions.
- Host video on demand (VOD) reviews of gameplay to critique mechanics and tactics to improve individual and team performance.
- Conduct regular grade checks to ensure eligibility for student players.
- Maintains a variety of records complying with district, athletic conference, and state requirements.
- Performs other related duties as required/assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in job related area, preferred.
- Job related experience with increasing levels of responsibility is required.
Certificates, Licenses and Other Special Requirements
- Missouri Teaching Certification, preferred.
- Missouri Substitute Teaching Certificate, required.
- Maintain CPR and First Aid certification.
- Criminal Background Clearance the results of which must be satisfactory to the District, required.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
- Work environment varies according to assigned sport.
- The work is light work that requires exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force to move objects.
