What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technician II position at Sprint?
Ensures that all installation and maintenance functions are performed in a timely fashion to meet customer and company specifications. Performs highly specialized moderately complex tasks associated with installation and/or maintenance of switch, cell, network, or CPE equipment.
The location for this position will be between the Ft. Lauderdale and Orlando Florida area. This position requires working outdoors walking the Sprint fiber path performing cable locates on a regular basis, applicant should be used to working outside and taking precautions for working in high temperatures during the summer time.Driving is an essential function of the job. Applicants must have a valid driver's license (may not be learner’s, restricted or “to and from work” license) and three consecutive years of active driving history immediately preceding the application that meets Sprint’s driver standards. This information will be verified in a Motor Vehicle Report. Applicants must also successfully complete driver's safety training and otherwise comply with Sprint's Driver Safety Policy and guidelines. Many positions are eligible for a company car based upon mileage and territory. Sprint company cars are authorized for personal use.
Basic Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- One year Network Operations experience
Preferred Qualifications
Prior Fiber locate experience and use of "locate" equipment.
Prior experience with maintaining and troubleshooting fiber networks and use of fiber test equipment.
Prior experience with fiber splicing and use of fiber repair equipment.
