What are the responsibilities and job description for the Human Resource Intern position at SPS?
Systems Products and Solutions, Inc. (SPS) is currently recruiting for a Human Resources Intern to join our HR team! This position is located in Huntsville, Alabama, on-sight at the corporate office. This position will report to the HR Manager Onsite.
The candidate should be highly conscientious, detail-oriented, well-organized and able to demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills. Outstanding computer skills and familiarity with full Microsoft Office required.
Must be working toward a degree in Human Resources or related field as either a Junior or Senior. This is an on-sight position and the position can be Full-Time or Part-Time.
As a Human Resources Intern, you will:
- Deliver verbal and written information clearly, succinctly, and persuasively.
- Maintain employee’s electronic files in compliance with applicable legal requirements.
- Develop reports, data pulls, and maintenance from UKG and other databases.
- Provide information to employees regarding company policies and procedures.
- Assist with onboarding, new hire orientation, employment verification, and event coordination.
- Operates telephone system (answer, connect and transfer calls, taking messages, etc.).
- Utilize research methods effectively for data collection and analysis.
- Assist the development of HR projects that help drive a culture of diversity and inclusion.
- Assist Recruiter with scheduling interviews, new hire pre-employment duties and other related duties.
- Individual must comply with all ISO Standards and requirements.
- HR basic knowledge.
- Computer and typing skills including knowledge using Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint (SharePoint is a bonus).
- Other duties as assigned.
- Adhere to company's AS9100 and QMS policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills:
- Receive/send postal mail and packages, sort and deliver mail to appropriate personnel.
- Pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- High energy and eager to learn.
- Proficient computer and typing skills (i.e. Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word). SharePoint is a plus.
- Capability to multi-task and work efficiently under deadlines.
- Sound professional judgment, business acumen, and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize, plan, and organize.
Education:
- HS Diploma or equivalent is required.
- College junior or senior standing is required.
