Job Summary
The Grounds Keeper provides quality landscaping and grounds maintenance support to the facility, ensuring all work areas and grounds remain clean and in top condition. The Grounds Keeper is responsible for daily grounds maintenance, as well as identifying and addressing areas of the facility that need heavy cleaning or additional maintenance. The Grounds Keeper is responsible for ensuring that the exterior of the facility and grounds remain in presentable condition, as well as participating in grounds focused improvement projects. Grounds Keeper will be available for fluctuating shifts and on-call work schedules where appropriate in order to respond to grounds keeping and maintenance needs. Grounds Keeper will demonstrate high levels of responsibility and accountability, working effectively and efficiently on assigned tasks and projects.

- Ensure the exterior of the facility and grounds remain clean and in an orderly condition.
- Work with vendors to ensure that dumpsters and waste areas are cleared in a timely manner.
- Maintain landscaping including mowing, trimming, and edging.
- Operate snow removal and de-icing equipment.
- Perform minor maintenance on landscaping, irrigation, and snow removal equipment.
- Apply herbicide to necessary areas for weed control purposes.
- Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners, herbicides and power equipment.
- Maintain accurate inventory of grounds keeping supplies, chemicals, and grounds equipment.
- Perform general maintenance such as yard maintenance, painting, pressure washing, etc.
- Perform routine quality checks to ensure proper facility cleanliness.

- Work in a team environment with little or no supervision.

Qualifications
- Ability to operate heavy machinery.
- Basic reading skills for Safety Data Sheets and hazardous waste information.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work with little or no supervision.

- Grounds equipment including mowers, tractors, snowplows, forklifts, boom lifts, scissor lifts, hand tools, pressure washers, trimmers, sprayers, and other necessary equipment.
- Other machines and equipment specific to departmental or facility needs.

Typical Environmental Conditions
- The worker is generally subject to inside environmental conditions typical of an office and a manufacturing environment, though certain tasks and projects may occur outside. There is protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above the ambient noise level. The environment includes a variety of physical conditions such a proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, and working on scaffolding or other high places. The employee may be exposed to one or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system or the skin: fumes, odors, dust mists, gases or poor ventilation. There is air and/or skin exposure to oils and other cutting fluids.
