DUTIES:
Develop relationships with the children we serve who have emotional and behavioral disorders while maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment and routines. Plan and lead group and individual activities that will help the children we serve achieve life and real-world skills, creating opportunities for them to succeed. Perform behavior management, therapeutic duties, and crisis intervention. Participate in reflective practice and supervision. Contribute to the management of the residence.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or G.E.D. Prior experience and training in positions similar to that of the Direct Care Worker/Direct Support Professionals or with children and their families faced with emotional and behavioral challenges. Direct Care Workers/Direct Support Professionals must complete OQMHP licensure requirements within the first few months of employment and must maintain it throughout their employment at Spurwink in this role. It is required that they will participate in designated in-service training programs and ongoing training is required. Basic computer skills are required.
