POSITION SUMMARY
The Construction Manager is responsible for coordination of the construction on the project. Coordinates compliance with the schedule, safety, cost, and quality decisions and is responsible for the performance and safety of all crew members on their projects. By educating and leading by example all team members on safety procedures, managing the quality of all work performed, and by making recommendations for improvements, you will ensure that projects stay within budget and work is delivered on time.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Ensures adherence to and demonstrates a sound understanding of safety best practices and regulations
- Supervises and mentors all supervisors; monitors their activities and provides leadership
- Ensures teams work together to deliver quality work to strict deadlines
- Supports the recruitment and hiring process for team members/crews on their project
- Provides leadership and guidance to develop their team members skills and abilities
- Writes up reports, dailies, project plans, and presents them to relevant stakeholders
- Reconciles work production tasks as they relate to invoicing
- Positively motivates crew, especially when fighting the elements or behind on projects
- Ensures quality assurance inspections occur during and after completion of work to ensure compliance to customer specific requirements
- Manages and coordinates all on-site construction activities for compliance with the project schedule and monitors and enforces compliance with contract requirements
- Directs field staff in the daily, weekly planning process
- Monitors and reports on construction productivity and schedule performance (including trends, revenue estimates, and actuals) to the Project Manager
- Strong communication skills when carrying out client facing tasks
- Takes actions necessary to meet project budget and schedule requirements
- Directs and approves the development and implementation of schedule recovery plans as required
- Supports weekly staff, subcontractor, safety meetings; can conduct as needed.
- Has general knowledge of all disciplines of construction
- Resolves safety and quality issues with the safety and quality managers
- Responsible for discipline and performance evaluations of their reports
- Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Five plus years as a construction supervisor in a capacity similar to current requirements
- Fiber construction background (aerial, splicing, underground, etc.)
- Valid driver’s license and excellent driving record
- Must be able to pass a DOT physical
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check
- High School Diploma or GED

Pay: $90,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
