Responsibilities
Our Information Technology Services department is hiring for an experienced System/DevOps Engineer to join the team and work alongside our system administrations, software engineers, cybersecurity officers, network engineers, and project managers. As a DevOps engineer, you’ll be the point person on a wide range of technologies and helping project teams to develop, implement, document, and manage complete system architectures. Your technical research and system implementation skills will enable continuing innovation within the institute’s infrastructure!
Our preference for this position is someone local to our Helena, MT office, however we are open to someone working remotely.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related fields, or equivalent work experience
- At least 5 years of a combination of education and work experience
- Due to government requirements candidates must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident
Strong knowledge of the following:
- Docker Containers / Kubernetes
- DevOps Tools:
- Software Repositories (Git, SVN, Hg, etc.)
- Binary Artifact Repositories (Artifactory, Nexus, etc.)
- CI/CD Pipelines (GitLab CI, Jenkins, Gradle, etc.)
- Issue Tracking (Jira, GitLab Issue Tracker, etc.)
- Configuration Management (BigFix, Ansible, Puppet, etc.)
- Languages:
- Scripting Languages (Bash, Python, Powershell, etc.) and/or Programming Languages (Java, C , Golang, etc.)
- Markup Languages (HTML, XML, YAML, Markdown, etc.)
- Database Query Languages (PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.)
Familiarity with any of the following is desired:
- Monitoring Tools (SolarWinds, Splunk, ELK Stack, Grafana, Nagios, etc.)
- Cloud Computing (Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Compute Cloud, etc.)
- Cyber Security Frameworks (NIST 800-53, ISO 27001/27002, CIS Critical Security Controls, etc.)
- IT Tools:
- Directory Services (Active Directory, LDAP, etc.)
- Multi-Factor Authentication Services (Okta, etc.)
- DNS Servers (InfoBlox, bind9, etc.)
- Web Servers (Apache, Nginx, etc.
For Colorado Residents the salary range is: $119,120 to $148,900. Salary ranges for this role will vary and are based on several factors, including geographic location, market competitiveness and equity amongst internal employees in similar roles.
