Job Title: Systems Engineer V

Location: 11550 Cronridge Drive Owings Mills, MD

Join our team as a Systems Engineer V, where you’ll work closely with our Technology Services Infrastructure team. You’ll be instrumental in maintaining a stable and efficient converged data, voice, and video network environment. This role offers a blend of onsite and remote work, providing flexibility and balance.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate, recommend, and implement proactive management tools for network stability and efficiency.
• Configure and maintain management tools for real-time and historical network fault and performance visibility.
• Keep tool versions updated, follow change control procedures, and liaise with management tool vendors to address software deficiencies.
• Develop and maintain customized programs, tools, and scripts to enhance productivity and visibility into infrastructure health and performance.
• Research and resolve any management tool issues that may affect proactive visibility into network infrastructure.
  
  

Skills Required

• Proficiency with UNIX/RedHat Linux and some systems administration experience.
• Strong understanding of SNMP MIBs, Syslog, NetFlow, TACACS, SNMP Traps, and alerting.
• Familiarity with databases such as MySQL, Postgres, and Vertica.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  
  

Preferred Skills

• 3 years of experience managing and creating network management tools and scripts.
• Experience with ServiceNow integrations, xMatters alerting through ServiceNow, and automation such as Ansible.
• Familiarity with Gitlab, Cisco router & switch configuration, JSON, Perl, Python, and Infoblox IP Address Management (IPAM).
• Knowledge of the Broadcom/CA DX NetOps suite.
