We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will engage in the design process of cutting-edge industrial and high-tech manufacturing facilities for some of the world's leading high-tech enterprises. As a Mechanical Engineer at SSOE, you will collaborate with fellow Mechanical Engineers, Design teams, and Senior Project Managers to develop innovative solutions for intricate and challenging designs, incorporating the latest design methodologies while ensuring adherence to specifications and timely project completion. This position is an onsite role that will require you to work onsite each day and be located in the N. Phoenix, AZ area. Remote or hybrid work arrangements for this role are not available.
Responsibilities
- Produce comprehensive detailed engineering designs, technica project plans, specifications, drawings, and models aligning with project requirements and client expectations.
- Lead the creation, refinement, and finalization of designs encompassing industrial and domestic piping, plumbing, HVAC ducting, chillers, boilers, exhaust systems, motor control, process chemicals, fire protection, and potentially other mechanical building systems.
- Design, analyse, & calculate heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems to maintain precise environmental conditions that include specific materials, specifications, and/or implement measures to control factors like temperature, humidity, air filtration, particle levels, etc.
- Apply established engineering techniques, exercising judgment to adapt and modify design concepts while ensuring compliance with company and team CAD standards for quality control.
- Collaborate closely with design teams, Engineers, Project Managers, and stakeholders to address specific objectives, complex features, and propose viable solutions to unique challenges.
- Facilitate seamless coordination among various design disciplines (Electrical, Structural, Process/Chemical, Architectural, etc.) to fulfill design package requirements.
- Conduct field verifications and site assessments to identify, verify, resolve, and integrate solutions into design packages, troubleshooting design issues during construction as necessary.
Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree from an ABET-accredited school in Mechanical Engineering or technically related discipline.
- Experience working with AutoCAD is required. Experience with Revit, Navisworks, PIPE-FLO or similar hydraulic modeling software is a plus.
- Demonstrated knowledge or experience with designs containing HVAC, chillers, boilers, pump hydraulics, exhaust, process chemicals, wastewater discharge, or other similar mechanical building systems.
- Salary Range: $70,000 - $98,000/year depending on location, education, experience, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.
