We are seeking a skilled Structural Designer to join our dynamic team. As a Structural Designer at SSOE, you will collaborate with fellow Structural Designers, engineering teams, and Senior Project Managers to develop innovative solutions for intricate and challenging designs, incorporating the latest design methodologies while ensuring adherence to specifications and timely project completion. Our Structural Designers will be responsible for creating conceptual designs, conducting structural analysis, and producing detailed construction drawings for state-of-the-art industrial and high-tech manufacturing facilities for the world’s leading high-tech companies. Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit software is essential for developing accurate and comprehensive structural drawings. This position will be a hybrid position, requiring occasional onsite work.
Responsibilities
Conduct structural analysis using industry-standard software to ensure the integrity and safety of designs, and make necessary adjustments as required.
Generate detailed construction drawings that include precise dimensions, materials, and specifications, adhering to company/project standards and local building codes.
- Design and model using AutoCAD and Revit software for 2D and 3D modeling to create accurate and detailed structural drawings of new structures and retrofitting of existing structures. Ensure that all design elements are accurately represented.
- Perform and coordinate the structural design and analysis of assigned projects under the supervision of a Sr. Engineer or Project Manager.
- Assist lead structural engineer in development and coordination of structural support scope.
- Conduct quality checks on drawings to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements and standards.
- Communicates with supervisor concerning progress or problems in an assigned task.
- Participate in project review sessions with all disciplines to ensure project standards and quality control measures are met.
- Coordinate and collaborate with other disciplines (such as mechanical, electrical, process/chemical, and architectural) to solve design problems, challenges, and ensure the structural designs integrate seamlessly into the overall project plans.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED is required. An Associate or Bachelor’s degree-tracked in Structural or Civil engineering technology is preferred.
- Experience with Revit and AutoCAD is required. Experience with RISA, Plant 3D, Bluebeam, Navisworks, or other related software systems is a plus.
- Demonstrated knowledge or experience with designs containing a mix of steel, strut, and/or concrete structures. Experience should be related to industrial, manufacturing, and/or high-tech facility design.
- Knowledge of associated building codes and seismic requirements.
- Salary Range: $50,000 - $100,000/year depending on location, education, experience, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.
