What are the responsibilities and job description for the CEI Technician II position at SSR, Inc.?
Looking for a CEI Technician II (Roadway Inspector) for Memphis, TN. office:
Under the direction of the senior staff, the CEI Technician II (Roadway Inspector) is responsible for onsite inspections of construction projects to ensure the Contractor is in compliance with the contract documents and construction specifications; assists in the supervision and training of CEI Technician I.
Other responsibilities shall include but are not limited to:
1. Supports work of Project Managers throughout the course of project cycle
2. Recording, Measuring and Verification of quantities
3. Reviewing of Request for Payments and Invoices, approval, sign-off
4. Maintaining daily logs and field books (electronic or hardcopy) of construction progress, site visitors, problems and resolutions
5. Approving construction methods
6. Apprises Owner of project progress and problems
7. Performs testing of construction materials (concrete, asphalt, soils, etc.) as required by owners specifications
8. Works to meet and exceed client needs throughout project
9. Consults with supervisor to determine project details, such as plan preparation, acceptance testing, and evaluation of field conditions
10. Reports maintenance problems occurring at project site to supervisor and collaborates to resolve issues
11. Responds to client suggestions and complaints
12. Engages in self-education and training in order to keep up with current industry trends and changes
13. Performs responsibilities consistent with ethical engineering standards in the company handbook
14. Writes staff reports, letters and reports on construction activities at office or at job site (if required)
Minimum Requirements:
· OSHA 10-Hour Construction certification
·High School diploma or equivalent; specialized training from a technical school may substitute for partial experience
· At least two (2) years experience in building construction as an owner’s representative
· Basic Computer skills
· Knowledge of DOT Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction as amended, construction regulations and statutes regarding generally accepted construction and trade practices preferred
