Assists the Aquatics Director in overseeing the development and operation of aquatics programs. Trains and supports assigned staff. Helps implement high quality, member-focused YMCA aquatics programs.

Essential Functions
1. Leads program activities to meet the needs of the community and fulfill YMCA objectives.
2. Assists with training, developing, scheduling and directing personnel as needed. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.
3. Helps run drills and keeps record of Lifeguard Quick Checks for the branch.
3. Manages YSL rosters, mid-session reports, and certificates of completion.
4. Manages emails/voicemails to the Aquatics Department as-needed.
5. Assists with lifeguarding, swim instruction, member inquiries, in-services, and other duties as assigned.
6. Assists in seeking coverage for the pool and program schedules.
7. Models relationship-building skills (including Listen First) in all interactions. Responds to all member and community inquiries and complaints in timely manner.
8. Position will include weekends and evenings.
Qualifications
6 to 12 months of related experience preferred (ex. Aquatics Supervisor, Lifeguard, or Swim Instructor).
Minimum age of 20.
Certifications: Red Cross Lifeguarding, CPR, First Aid, AED, YMCA Swim Instructor (or equivalent).
Completion of (or working towards completion of) Lifeguard Instructor Certification.
Reliable and enthusiastic.
Able to relate effectively to diverse groups of people, of every age, echelon, and socioeconomic status.

Hours: 40 hours per week full time salary
