What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician and Coordinator position at St. Angela Merici Roman Catholic Church?
This position requires daily hands-on activities and the ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and other team members.
Technical Skills: This position should have a general knowledge of facility systems including plumbing, electrical, HVAC systems, and light carpentry.
Preventative Maintenance: This position is responsible for developing and implementing a preventative maintenance schedule across all systems as required. The SAM Home Team Advisor Network may support this effort as requested.
Maintenance and Repair: While the Maintenance Technician and Coordinator is NOT expected to make ALL repairs across the maintenance spectrum, the ability to diagnose the issue and make minor repairs as able OR to escalate the issue to the proper level for resolution is critical. The SAM Home Team Advisor Network is available to support the Maintenance Technician and Coordinator as part of the Maintenance Escalation Process.
Safety: This position is responsible for understanding the risks of the work to be performed, to utilize appropriate safe practices to ensure everyone goes home safely each day. This includes handling of tools, following of procedures, and working with others in emergency situations.
Primary Responsibilities
· Support the Facility Services Team during the school day as needed and during summer activities as needed.
· Develop and implement a time-based preventative maintenance schedule across all systems as required.
· Respond to maintenance requests and notices of issues that need to be addressed as guided by the SAM Maintenance Escalation Process
· Order parts and materials required for repairs or replacements as well as supplies required for the Facility Services Team.
· Provide maintenance status reports to Pastor and Principal as requested.
· Provide maintenance advice and recommendations to Pastor and/or Principal as appropriate.
· Everyone is responsible to ensure security perimeter is maintained throughout the school day.
· Participate in meetings with Pastor and/or Principal as requested.
· Assist Faculty, Staff, Students, and other organizations as requested.
Reporting Relationship
· This position reports directly to the St Angela Merici Pastor (Parochial Vicar if the Pastor is out) and the School Principal (Assistant Principal if the Principal is out).
· This position has no direct reports.

· Work Hours: 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday
Scope of Work: All general maintenance systems including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and light carpentry across all facilities listed below:
· Church (Seating capacity: ~400 people)
· School (~430 students, ~50 Faculty and Staff)
· Gymnasium (Multipurpose facility that includes full court basketball, volleyball, bleachers, stage, kitchen, refrigerators, freezer, and special high-performance flooring)
· Parish Office (Renovated home at 901 Beverly Garden Dr w/ eight offices, receptionist, and three meeting spaces)
· Holy Family Hall (New meeting facility coming on-line in October 2024)
· Rectory (Two-story home where Priests live)
