Position Summary:
The Grants Research Assistant provides the research needed to advance Individual and Foundation support for St. Ann Center and is responsible for ensuring timely completion of the organizations obligations to its funders in the areas of Grant Reports and Media Recognition. This position works in a team environment and reports directly to the VP of Grants & Community Engagement.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Foundations Support :
- Maintain up-to-date Grants Calendar to schedule and track Grant Requests and Grant Reports.
- Research Foundations to identify potential funding opportunities.
- Track and ensure all Foundation gifts are recognized as appropriate in media releases, website, annual reports and social media.
- Maintain Grants Department filing system (physical and electronic files) for maximum efficiency.
- Other tasks as assigned.
Individual Donor & Marketing Support:
- New donor search support: research potential candidates for solicitation as new individual donors utilizing web-based search techniques, Linked-In, media outlets, and donor search software.
- Maintain donor database in Raisers Edge for accuracy and completeness; add new donors, and update existing donors.
- Provide telephone support for periodic outgoing call campaigns by placing calls to donors in our database with script-guided talking points.
- Support St. Ann Centers fundraising activities and community outreach events by attending and supporting the activity (Indaba Ball, Gala, golf outing, Indaba bandshell, exhibiting events, etc.)
Education/Training:
Bachelors Degree.
Skills/Abilities:
- High degree of reliability, focus and follow-through
- Ability to do quick and thorough research on funders
- Solid database experience (Raisers Edge experience a plus)
- Systematic approach to work
- Cooperative attitude / team player
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint and Excel
