Responsibilities
Work involves inventorying, disassembling, cleaning, reassembling, and maintaining operating room equipment. Assisting in maintaining a clean, sanitary, orderly OR environment, and transporting patients as required.
- An incumbent is required to understand and apply Standard Precaution guidelines and other safety / security standards to all work activities.
- Assists with the flow of surgical instrumentation between processing and surgery; reads OR schedule, anticipates needs and sets-up OR with required supplies and equipment, for respective case(s).
- Assists in maintaining a clean, sanitary and orderly OR environment.
- Assists with patients, to include transporting and assisting with lifting, turning, positioning and preparing patients for surgical procedures.
Qualifications
Education / Work Experience Requirements
- One year of related work experience in an acute care hospital that demonstrates attainment of the requisite job knowledge skills / abilities.
- Post-high school training specific to health care (., central processing, health care assistant) preferred. Work experience in perioperative or as a military medic / corpsman is preferred.
Licensure / Certification
- Current healthcare provider BLS Certification.
