SUPERVISOR: Program Administrator Psychology Services
Clinical supervision will be provided by the assigned consulting psychologist.
HOURS PER WEEK: 40
QUALIFICATIONS: New York State Certification as School Psychologist
FUNCTION: To provide psychological services to students in the Residential, Educational and Community Based Clinical and Case Management Services.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Administer and interpret intelligence, personality, and other specialized psychological tests/instruments.
Complete psycho-educational evaluations and assist in the formulation/modification of individual education plans (IEPs) where necessary.
Conduct clinical interviews, review case histories, and consult with treatment teams for all assigned cases.
Analyze and interpret psychological data. Present information to parents/guardians and/or SAI treatment teams as needed.
Participate in staff meetings, treatment reviews, special treatment meetings, CSE meetings as appropriate.
Assist in implementing effective intervention strategies to de-escalate behavior.
Conduct in-service training regarding psychological testing and DSM-5 definitions.
Collaborate with the Director of Education, Guidance Counselor, CSE Chairperson, and other clinical staff in the pre-placement/admission process of students.
Consult with Clinical Services, Education, Residential and Day Services Departments regarding treatment and educational programming issues.
Keep abreast of the current trends and developments in psychological testing, clinical methods and techniques and theoretical issues.
Develop behavioral treatment plans based on individual functional behavioral analyses.
Provide individual and/or group clinical services to assigned students/clients from any of the agency’s clinical programs, including but not limited to Prevention, Child & Family Treatment Supports and Services (CFTSS), Runaway Homeless Youth Services, Residential & Educational/Vocational Programs.
Assist CSE Chairperson in scheduling and coordinating CSE meetings and coordinating special education services.
Attend Initial 30-Day School Meetings and specialized education meetings when necessary.
Assist with transition planning and assessments.
Attend clinical training and other trainings as recommended/required.
Attend Clinical supervision meetings and individual supervision meetings as required.
Adhere to the American Psychological Association, the NYS Justice Center and the SAI Codes of Conduct/Ethics
Assume other duties as requested/required.
