The Archdiocese of Washington is seeking a Parish Bookkeeper for Saint Bernard’s Parish.

The Parish Bookkeeper will be responsible for internal controls over Parish Accounting and will report to the Pastor.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Offertory and contribution revenue, capital campaigns parish expenses and payables as well as employee benefits, payroll and payroll tax reporting.
  • Working with the annual parish budget process
  • Monthly reporting to the Pastor and finance council
  • Annual financial report to the parishioners and the Archdiocese

Requirements:

  • Associates degree in business or accounting
  • Knowledge of basic accrual accounting and internal controls
  • Computer aptitude to use Parish Soft Accounting and the HRIS system, CHRIS
  • Working knowledge of Excel and Word
