Catholic Health Services of Long Island (CHS) was founded in 1997 to oversee the Diocese of Rockville Centre's healthcare organization, which now includes six hospitals, three nursing homes, a regional home care, and hospice group and a community based agency for persons with special needs. St. Catherine's is located on the north shore of Long Island in Smithtown. The campus is comprised of a 296-bed not-for-profit community hospital; a 240-bed nursing and rehabilitation care center; and a 60,000 square foot medical office building. In addition, St. Catherine also received Honor Roll recognition for thrombolytic management of acute ischemic stroke in 2011 and 2013 and 2016-17.

Responsibilities:

Provides and manages the care of acutely ill hospitalized patients alongside an excellent ancillary staff with a Rapid Response Team. The successful candidate will work in a collegial and professional environment in a 7 day Block schedule. Responsibilities include: providing full or partial services to private attending physicians who elect to utilize the Hospitalist Services, attend monthly Hospitalist Meetings, get involved in quality as well as Patient Experience committees, be able to work in a team environment, be able to provide high quality care, be able to manage an average patient caseload of 15-17 patients, and able to adapt and be flexible to new CMS regulations.  

Qualifications:

Doctorate degree in Medicine or Osteopathic Medicine, ACLS/BLS Certified, trained in Family Practice or Internal Medicine and be Board Certified or Eligible in Internal Medicine/Family Practice.
