Field Crew

Under close supervision, measures real property on behalf of the St. Clair County Assessor’s Office; Identifying, measuring and drawing new construction and improvements to existing structures to assist with the determination of value. Also reviews existing structures as scheduled.

Salary: $30,000

Essential Functions

• Gather data on real property including, but not limited to, measuring, drawing and computing of structures and areas, physical inspection of exterior and at times, interior building.
• Taking photos of all improvements on property.
• Keeping work organized to facilitate timely completion of such.
• Be able to use equipment and computer programs utilized in office.
  

Working Environment/Physical Demands

Work is performed outside with exposure to all types of weather common in Southwestern Illinois; subject to extensive standing and walking on properties with different topography. Employees are expected to meeting production and quality standards.

• Department operations relative to area of assignment.
• Locating properties utilizing county maps.
• Produce drawings of buildings.

• Coordinating and performing a variety of field crew functions.
• Responding to public inquiries and providing contact information regarding departmental services, programs, policies, and procedures.
• Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with other staff and the general public
• Meeting deadlines and working through frequent interruptions and inquiries.

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
• St Clair County, Il resident
• Valid Illinois Driver’s License
