Summary

Exemplifies St. Clair Health’s customer service behavioral expectations in all interactions.  The Medication History Pharmacy Technician improves medication safety by assisting in the collection of an up-to-date medication list for patients admitted to the Hospital. Accurately obtains medication histories upon patients’ admission, enters medication histories into electronic database, and performs all basic pharmacy technician functions in a timely manner.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  1. High School graduate or equivalent
  2. Fundamental understanding of personal computers, keyboarding skills, and familiarity with the Windows operating system
  3. Completion of one of the following:
  1. Current Pharmacy Technician certification
  2. Current  American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) or Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) Medication Reconciliation Certificate or attainment within 6 months of employment.
  3. At least 3 years of pharmacy technician experience in a hospital or 2 years in a retail setting.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Five years of experience as a pharmacy technician with a combination of retail and hospital experience; experience completing home medication lists as a medication reconciliation/history pharmacy technician.
  2. Completion of a pharmacy technician training program.
