Position Summary:
The Licensed Cosmetologist Esthetician is a skincare specialist who evaluates client skin condition, develops treatment recommendations, and performs desired services in effort to enhance overall physical appearance. The Licensed Esthetician performs direct patient care that requires knowledge and expertise as taught or acquired through an approved/accredited beauty school.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Assesses client skin condition, appearance and other characteristics making recommendations for treatment.
Provides skin treatments including microdermabrasion, chemical peels, facials, and light therapy.
Performs laser treatments including laser hair removal, skin rejuvenation, and spot treatment.
Complies with established policies, standards of practice, and delivers individualized patient care that preserves and protects the patient’s autonomy, dignity, rights, values, and beliefs.
Engages in self-evaluation of practice and takes action to improve knowledge and skills. Retains accountability for quality of care given to the patient.
Respects privacy, confidentiality, and diversity of patients and families.
Education:
Graduate from high school or equivalent. Must be able to demonstrate proof of 1,500 education hours functioning as a Cosmetologist and an additional 750 education hours functioning as an Esthetician.
Experience:
A minimum of one year functioning in the capacity of a Licensed Cosmetologist Esthetician.
Licensure/Certification:
Must hold an active Cosmetology and Esthetician license through the Kentucky Board of Cosmetology.
