What are the responsibilities and job description for the Benefits Specialist position at St. Croix Casino?

JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for providing Employee Education regarding available Benefits, ensures completion and filing of necessary documents and accurate enrollment and administration for St. Croix Chippewa Indians of Wisconsin-St. Croix Casino’s employee group and Voluntary Benefits Plan Options including Short-term Disability & Family and Medical Leave Application. This position requires the utmost confidentiality.

QUALIFICATIONS: Native American preference. Associates Degree Preferred or a Minimum 3 Years’ Experience. Strong Understanding & Knowledge Of:

· Affordable Care Act

· Section 125 Regulations

· HIPPA Regulations

Requires strong personal computer, verbal and written skills. Needs a minimum typing skill of 45wpm. Knowledge of ADP Software, Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel and PowerPoint Access.

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:

The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Work environment: the work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions as well as second hand smoke. Additionally, the employee is occasionally required to work in and/or travel to various communities as needed.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Assisting employee’s with Benefit plan enrollments.

2. Answering questions and assisting with issues as they arise.

3. Processing online Benefit enrollments and terminations.

4. Monthly billing reconciliation of all plans Accounts Payable.

5. Monthly plan online auto enrollment of full-time new hire employees.

6. Bi-weekly maintenance and collection of employee plan premiums due.

7. Administering the annual Open Enrollment period.

8. Processing of confidential document mailings, files and data entry.

9. Completion of Employer-sponsored Health Insurance information (ESHI) requests as received.

10. Short-term Disability, Maternity Leave and FML application processing.

11. Employee benefits eligibility status tracking.

12. Documentation of employee benefits plan offers, per ACA.

Must comply with and enforce all safety policies and rules. Must be able to meet the attendance guidelines of the position and adhere to departmental and company policies. St Croix Chippewa Indians of Wisconsin reserve the right to make changes to this job description whenever necessary.

Other Duties as Assigned.

Pay: From $15.00 per hour
