Job Summary and Qualifications

The AVP of Business Development will identify, asses and execute on growth initiatives for the Central West Texas Division. Will be responsible for all aspects of business development and accountable for leading targeted growth initiatives in the assigned area including but not limited to service line development, physician group development, new business development and access point development. In collaboration with hospital leadership teams, the AVP of Business Development is responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating, and directing all functions related to growth and business development initiatives. Additionally, the role involves community involvement and relationships to meet the stated mission, vision, and values of St. David's Healthcare. It is expected that the AVP of Business Development will focus on the strategic business drivers and key growth initiatives. The AVP of Business Development will also consult with other division/hospital leaders to ensure strategic and business plan strategies are executed. In addition, this role will develop financial and operational models that aid in the evaluation of projects, while supporting analytically-driven decision-making. Ensures that all legal and statutory requirements are met.

  • You will work collaboratively with the SVP of Business Development and Central West Texas division & facility executive leadership teams to develop, document, monitor, and execute on business development opportunities as well as long-range strategic projects of the organization. Collaboration with business analytics and planning team to monitor/understand current performance and potential opportunities.
  • You will create business plans, presentations, and conduct financial analysis of key business development/growth initiatives/opportunities.
  • You will identify and assess business opportunities which may include the evaluation of potential acquisitions, joint ventures and new access point procurement/development.
  • You will work with Decision Support to obtain and analyze data regarding: Competitive environment in the CWT Division, Market share data, and other market data
  • You will align development initiatives with PPR, marketing, physician sales, physician recruiting, and hospital teams
  • You will assist in driving further integration across the CWT Division, including Network Optimization opportunities, Network Expansion opportunities in working with Hospitals, ASC’s FSED’s, UCC’s, PSG, Telehealth, Post Acute Care, Imaging centers, and Capital projects for expansion/de-novo opportunities
  • You will build relationships with already aligned and potential alignment Physician practices and individual providers
  • You will support the development and implementation of strategies to elevate the patient experience.
  • You will maintain a patient-first philosophy and engages in service recovery when necessary.
  • You will demonstrate ability to build relationships and to work effectively with people of diverse social, faith, economic, and racial/ethnic backgrounds.
  • You will communicate clearly (written, verbal, and presentation), proactively, and concisely with all key stakeholders, customers, and staff.
  • You will establish and maintain long-term customer relationships, building trust and respect by consistently meeting and exceeding expectations.
  • You will deal effectively with others in an antagonistic situation; using appropriate interpersonal styles and methods to reduce tension or conflict between two or more people.

What qualifications you will need:
  • Bachelors Degree required
  • Masters Degree in Healthcare preferred
  • 7 years progressively responsible experience in health care industry to include demonstrated success in an administrative capacity with responsibilities related to strategic planning and business development.
