Job Title : Nurse Practitioner Job Summary : Must use clinical specialization to provide primary and/or acute care to patients and their families. Works collaboratively with staff to improve the clinical outcomes and processes of care for all patients. Brings clinical expertise, leadership, consultation, teaching, and research to patients and physicians. Utilizes in-depth knowledge of that specialization to drive improvement through various roles and alliances. Education :
- Licensed Nurse Practitioner.
Work Experience :
- At least 3 years experience in a clinical area and BLS certification is preferred. Sound technical, critical thinking, and teamwork skills required. Must be skilled in physical and mental health assessment, diagnosis, treatment, pharmacology and advanced clinical nursing practice. Possess the ability to work effectively with all members of a care team. Reports to Department's Director. Must demonstrate ability to recognize patients' individual needs based on medical conditions, age (infant, pediatric, adolescent, young adult, middle-aged adult, or geriatrics) limitations and planned procedures.

- Participates in regular service meetings. Facilitates implementation of evidence-based standardized care. Facilitates compliance with order sets and protocols approved by the Service and endorsed by the Medical Executive Committee Establishes a prioritization method for assessing and following all patients. Helps to establish a co-management program and then ensures that appropriate assessment process, as endorsed by the medical staff. Works with nurses and other hospital personnel as needed to identify any abnormal pre-op test results and coordinate follow-up testing and initiate internal medicine co-management when indicated. Participates in daily multidisciplinary rounds to ensure that each one is meeting clinical and discharge planning goals. Support and follow up on results of multidisciplinary rounds for same patients. Identifies performance improvement areas and leads or co-leads improvement strategies to address and improve performance. Provides education for nursing and ancillary staff, in conjunction with the Education Department, to promote best practices and also provide education in an informal setting on the nursing units in real time. Participates in developing, reviewing and revising related Policies and Procedures
- Prolonged periods of standing, walking, or sitting while on duty. Lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50 pounds with or without assistance. Transferring, repositioning patients. Reaching, stooping, bending, kneeing, and crouching for patient care functions. Visual and auditory acuity and manual dexterity essential to performing designated duties required. Optimal auditory acuity required. Manual dexterity involving the handling of equipment and instruments or needles is essential to performing assigned duties. Ability to perform effectively in a stressful and fast-paced environment. Ability to pass all required health and other screening tests. Physical conditions are clean, neat and well lit. Maybe subjected to unpleasant sights and odors, stressful situations and hazardous or infectious agents where judgment as to precautions need to be taken is essential. Climate control and ambient temperature variances may be experienced. Exposure to limited amounts of hazardous chemicals or substances and infectious disease processes are a possibility. Hours of duty maybe irregular or unexpectedly extended due to emergency circumstances. Direct contact with blood or other body fluids to which universal precautions apply. Personal protective equipment is made available and must be worn.
