Anticipated Opening: Life Skills Teacher
St. George School is a community-centered PreK-8 public schoo l located in picturesque
Mid-Coast Maine. We are committed to academic excellence, community engagement,
Expeditionary Learning , and teachers working in teams to innovate, educate, and
develop as professionals.
We are looking for a K – 5 Life Skills Teacher to lead our Life Skills Program for students
with developmental needs. St. George MSU offers very competitive salary and benefits.
Moreover, our staff works as a team to integrate students – to the fullest extent possible –
into our school community and the mainstream classroom. The teacher will work
collaboratively with the special education team (administration, related service providers,
teachers and ed-techs) to continue to develop and integrate the Life Skills program and the
unique opportunities and supports offered to students.
The ideal candidate for this position will understand special education procedural
requirements, collaborate and communicate effectively with St. George school staff and
outside providers and agencies, build a strong team to support the Life Skills program, and
implement specific teaching and supporting strategies to meet students’ individual needs.
This position requires a K-8 Teacher of Students with Disabilities (282E) and Maine
Department of Education Criminal History Records Check certifications. Applications will
be accepted until a suitable candidate is found. Individuals interested should complete the
