St. George Steel seeks an experienced Quality Control Inspector to join its high performing team in Southern Utah. Our ideal Quality Control Inspector has excellent attention to detail and an analytical mindset while comparing production to respective codes and expectations in both dimensions and finish. The ideal candidate will possess a trained eye for detail and will be reliable and committed. In depth knowledge and comprehension of quality standards is essential. This role shall also be capable of building and strengthening relationships with team members. This role must possess related certifications. This role is a targeted growth role.
Job Description:
· Reading blueprints and instructions to comprehend quality expectations.
· Reviewing raw materials as needed with respect to quality standards.
· Must be familiar with manufacturing methods.
· In depth knowledge of research and data analysis methods and estimation formulas.
· Use automated systems to perform or record results from complex testing procedures.
· Maintain records of testing, information and various appropriate metrics.
· Prepare and submit reports to and consult with the quality manager.
· Physical verification of assigned products.
· Proper use of PPE.
· Other duties may be assigned that may specifically impact business and/or organizational needs.
Experience and Skills:
· Health & Safety awareness
· Analytical, technical thought process
· Experience with AISC Audits
· Experience with ASME Audits
· Direct communication style
· Exquisite thoroughness and reliability.
· Responsive to some disruption, change, and time pressure
· Ability to read and interpret blueprints and plans
· A resourceful approach to accomplishing their work
· Ability to handle multiple projects
· Proven experience as quality inspector or related role
· A keen eye for detail and a results-driven approach
· Technical training at a college, university, or apprenticeship program can be substituted for experience. One year of school is equivalent to two years of experience.
· Working knowledge of MS Office
· Must be flexible and able to work under own initiative
· Requires three to five (5 ) years of related experience
