Dean of Academics - Grade 5-12As a member of the Leadership Team, the Academic Dean holds a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth functioning of academic affairs within the school. In addition to the Deans primary responsibilities, the Dean is tasked with stepping in for the principals in their absence, providing leadership and guidance to uphold the school's mission and values. This includes overseeing day-to-day operations, managing staff, and maintaining a positive and productive learning environment.The Academic Dean plays a crucial role in upholding academic integrity throughout the school. The Dean is responsible for ensuring that academic standards are upheld, curriculum development is aligned with educational goals, and assessment practices are fair and transparent.
The Dean works closely with faculty members to promote a culture of academic honesty and integrity among students, while also implementing policies and procedures to address any instances of academic misconduct.Recurring tasks: New Teacher Orientation and New Teacher meetingsResponsible for all testing(ordering and implementation): PSAT/SAT, MAP, ARKCourse Handbook (Grades 9-12)Academic Eligibility (Grades 5-8)Honors Breakfast (Grades 5-8) Interim reports (middle of each quarter)Report cards (end of each quarter/semester)Honors Rolls Academic Council (quarterly- Grades 9-12)Teacher observations and feedback meetingsPlanning Academic professional development days with PrincipalsScheduling with Guidance and PrincipalsUpdate Parent-Student Handbooks with PrincipalsWork with Faculty to create textbook listUpdate Summer Reading Lists
