Job Description:
The Lab Generalist II performs qualitative analysis on all specimens received in the Laboratory for the station assigned; including Hematology, Blood Bank and Chemistry. Observes the quality of control policies and procedures in order to ensure reliable patient results. Documents acceptance of the control results in the LIS; as well as any problems with the controls and the resolutions to the problem. Recognizes and verifies critical or life-threatening patient test results. Performs the required maintenance on the instruments at the prescribed times and documents this fact in the appropriate logbook or the LIS.
Requirements/Skills:
N.Y.S. Clinical Laboratory Technologist license required.
B.S. in Lab Science required.
Minimum of 3-5 years experience as a Blood Bank, Hematology and/or Chemistry Technologist preferred (recent experience required).
