Business Office – Clerk
St. John’s Episcopal School, an independent Episcopal school in Rancho Santa Margarita for students from early childhood through 8th Grade, seeks a self-starter and detailed-oriented accounting clerk to join the Business Office team.
Reports to: Controller
Position Type: Full-time; 12-month Start: Immediately
Compensation & Benefits
- Based upon education and experience; $52,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Processing and maintaining transactions and reconciliations for: o Accounts Payable o Cash Receipts o Account Receivable
Additional Responsibilities
- Assist in Month End and Year End closing
- 1099 filings and quarterly Sales and Use Tax returns
- Assist with recording fixed assets
- Maintain the Business Office equipment and supplies
- Perform additional duties commensurate with this role to support the school at large
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience working in an accounting office with specific duties relating to Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
- Strong MS office application skills: Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook is required
- Experience with accounting systems - Blackbaud FENXT and RENXT experience is a plus, but not required.
- Detail oriented, good organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills, (verbal and written).
Preferred Education
- Associates Degree or higher in in Accounting or a related field
Physical Demands & Environmental/Working Conditions
- Work is performed on-site in an office environment.
- Typically requires the ability to sit at a computer for extended periods of time, hear the telephone, and enter data on a computer or calculator.
- May require the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
