This is a PRN position (On-Call - No Benefits) - you will receive an additional 15% PRN pay in lieu of benefits
HOURS: 7am - 3pm
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is accountable for counting and stocking patient supply carts on various nursing units and stickering and putting away the main order and inventory that are delivered. This position will also receive, store, issue materials and equipment. Takes inventory when needed, posts issue information on the computer. Posts receiving information on the computer. Enters issues and receiving information into the computer. Performs pump cleaning and mail room functions. Orders items as needed from vendors under the direction of purchasing personnel.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
- Responsible for counting and stocking patient supply carts on various nursing units as well as helping unload supplies in the department. Uses best means available to convey materials to departments.
- Responsible for stickering and putting away the daily main and inventory order, that is delivered from Purchasing.
- Responsible for answering the phone and making deliveries.
- Receives materials from vendors and notes condition of incoming materials for discrepancies and/or damage.
- Enters information into the computer system.
- Orders special requisition items as needed by departments using the computer system.
- Enters data into the computer to complete the purchase order, i.e. price, amount ordered, delivery date and any other information needed.
- Communicates with departments regarding supply chain activities and provides support for all supply chain requirements.
- Keeps departments advised with respect to lead time required to obtain critical materials.
- Completes the appropriate section of the shipping document and receiving report.
- Issues and posts information when delivering materials to the warehouse and departments.
SECONDARY DUTIES:
- Makes scheduled and emergency deliveries to specific departments.
- Searches continually for improvements and/or less costly materials and supplies within the classifications and limits assigned.
- Follows through on the closing of every stock purchase order in a timely manner.
- Reconciles discrepancies with the Department Director, Buyers and Accounting Department.

- Knowledge in use of Material Management system is desirable
