Unit/Position SummaryThe Athletic Trainer Outreach will help support high schools and colleges to provide coverage for our patient geographic locations with our sports medicine team.

Responsibilities
- Provides standard immediate care procedures used in emergency situations, performs injury evaluation and assessment of patient's level of function and follows standardized practice in the area of diagnostic reasoning and medical decision making on behalf of the athlete.
- Understands and uses preventative measures, providing education to the community, to ensure the highest quality of care for every patient.
- Oversees the training room, supervising assistant trainers, and planning and scheduling medical coverage at sporting events.
- Determines appropriate therapeutic treatment and provides rehabilitation, and/or reconditioning strategies, and taping / wrapping and bracing for preventative and protective treatment.
- Evaluates and manages head injuries and concussions and develops appropriate return to play guidelines in collaboration with system entities.
- Maintain daily records of treatment logs, injury reports, and doctor's referrals. Maintain medical inventory used for the care of athletes.
- Ensures an Emergency Action Plan be put in place and discussed with the school's Athletic Director, coaches, and athletes.
- Travels to local community, sports, school, etc. events.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor Degree in Athletic Training or healthcare related field
- Experience: 0 years of certified AT experience
- Licenses/Certifications: Licensed as a Certified Athletic Trainer the state of practice. Board of Certification (BOC) certified. Current CPR/first responder certification and/or CPR for the healthcare provider.
