Description:
The Communications Specialist supports St. Luke’s communication efforts through the creation of content that engages and informs team members and current/prospective patients. This individual also represents the organization at targeted community and association events with particular emphasis on promoting St. Luke’s Urgent Care Centers, Workplace Health, Passport to Wellness, Community Outreach and other targeted service lines and offerings. This individual assists in developing and implementing a marketing/social media plan for existing/future Urgent Care Centers. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission and values.

Supports employee and service line communication efforts as assigned to inform and engage. Assists in concepting, writing and distributing projects for assigned areas. Works with in-house graphics team and print shop to design and produce materials. Assists with managing and maintaining various informational and promotional content throughout hospital public areas. 40%

Collaborates closely with Senior Marketing Project Manager and Urgent Care leadership to assist in developing and implementing marketing and communication strategies specific to Urgent Care Centers. Collaborates with Media Relations Manager and Urgent Care leadership to identify topics, write and push Facebook posts for dedicated St. Luke’s Urgent Care social media channels. 30%

Works closely with service area chambers of commerce, city administrators/ planners, school/pre-school nurses, trainers and athletic directors, athletic associations, hotels and others to promote available services. Represents St. Luke’s Hospital at targeted local events and meetings. 20%

Collaborates with Media Relations Manager to identify, schedule and coordinate patient testimonial videos; 10 %

Performs other work duties as assigned.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing or Healthcare Administration or minimum of five years relevant experience.
Experience:
- Healthcare experience strongly preferred.

Demonstrated verbal and cognitive aptitudes including public speaking and client/patient/physician communications.

Proven ability to work independently yet collaborative as required.

Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines while balancing multiple concurrent assignments.

Employee is required to walk occasionally and sit occasionally. Employee must lift/carry a medium (21-50 lbs.) load occasionally. Employee is occasionally required to bend, squat, crawl, kneel, climb, lift waist to overhead. Employee is occasionally required to reach forward and reach overhead. Employee may be required to do simple grasping and pushing/pulling.
