Position: Emergency Department Nurse Director Location: Columbus, NC

Essential Functions:
Responsible for direction of the Emergency Department nursing staff. Supports and empowers staff to embrace the mission, vision and value statements of the hospital.
Treats patients and their families with respect and dignity.
Identifies and addresses psychosocial, cultural, ethnic and religious/spiritual needs of patients and family.
Functions as liaison between administration, patients, physicians and other healthcare providers.
Interacts professionally with patient/family and involves patient/family in the formation of the plan of care.
Communicates appropriately and clearly to physicians, staff, administrative team, patients and family members.
Coordinates and directs patient care to ensure patients’ needs are met and hospital policy is followed.
Provides excellent bedside care to patients.
Acts as a role model for teammates by projecting and promoting positive communication within the department as well as with other departments inside and outside the hospital.
Other essential functions as needed.
Required knowledge, skills, & abilities:
Current RN license in North Carolina with three (3) years or more years’ experience in critical care nursing.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from an accredited school of nursing preferred.
Successful completion of critical care course.
Current BLS certification.
Current ACLS certification.
PALS within 6 months of hire.
TNCC within one year of hire.
MICN certification preferred.
Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
Additional languages preferred.
Basic computer knowledge.
Responsible for coverage on all shifts. Available to work on an off-shift when needed.
