Essential Functions:

Essential Functions:
- Responsible for direction of the Emergency Department nursing staff. Supports and empowers staff to embrace the mission, vision and value statements of the hospital.
- Treats patients and their families with respect and dignity.
- Identifies and addresses psychosocial, cultural, ethnic and religious/spiritual needs of patients and family.
- Functions as liaison between administration, patients, physicians and other healthcare providers.
- Interacts professionally with patient/family and involves patient/family in the formation of the plan of care.
- Communicates appropriately and clearly to physicians, staff, administrative team, patients and family members.
- Coordinates and directs patient care to ensure patients’ needs are met and hospital policy is followed.
- Provides excellent bedside care to patients.
- Acts as a role model for teammates by projecting and promoting positive communication within the department as well as with other departments inside and outside the hospital.
- Other essential functions as needed.
Required knowledge, skills, & abilities:
- Current RN license in North Carolina with three (3) years or more years’ experience in critical care nursing.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from an accredited school of nursing preferred.
- Successful completion of critical care course.
- Current BLS certification.
- Current ACLS certification.
- PALS within 6 months of hire.
- TNCC within one year of hire.
- MICN certification preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Additional languages preferred.
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Responsible for coverage on all shifts. Available to work on an off-shift when needed.

Position Type: Full Time
Shift: Day. Responsible for covering vacancies on any shift.
