What are the responsibilities and job description for the Preschool/Pre-K Teacher position at St. Luke's Preschool?
St. Luke’s Preschool in Manchester is looking to hire a teacher for the 24-25 school year in a PreK age classroom (4-5 year olds) from 8:45-3:15 Monday-Friday. We are a small, faith-based Christian school that is committed to providing a quality early childhood education to prepare children for Kindergarten and beyond. We believe in small class sizes where the teachers can get to know the children and families. Our teachers must be able to provide instruction that is unique for each individual, as well as encourage children to develop at their own pace.
Teacher Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the health and safety of children in your care
- Open communication with families
- Ability to communicate positively with children, interacting with them to model appropriate behavior, and support curiosity in play
- Facilitate the daily functions of the classroom
- Establish and maintain a safe, healthy and nurturing learning environment
- Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practice in the early childhood setting
- Maintain a professional relationship with parents, fellow teachers, Director, and church members
- Overall professional personal appearance
- Comply with applicable licensing guidelines, including TB test, background screening, CPR/First Aid certification
- Be willing to participate in ongoing education, including workshops and seminars
Our school follows the Parkway school schedule, and is closed for holidays and summer break. Teachers are paid for holiday breaks during the school year, but not over summer break.
Most of all, we are looking for a motivated, self-starter who has a passion for teaching young children and embraces a “learn through play” approach.
Experience working with children is required, and a degree in Education or related field is desired.

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
