Description of the Position: (Purpose of the Position):
The Office of Student Activities (OSA) Communications Manager will support the operations of the OSA and dynamic student engagement through creative thinking, planning, and collaboration. Utilizing the creative execution of photography, writing, and graphics, the Communications Manager will manage various print, digital, and social channels, as well as develop a method of reporting successes, opportunities, and trends to both best tell the story of the OSA while simultaneously refining the OSA’s approach to intentional student engagement and development.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Oversee the management of the OSA social media accounts, posting regularly using a developed marketing plan.
• Create promotional content for OSA initiatives for use in print materials, emails, and the OSA website
• Contribute to marketing and communications strategy for the Office of Student Activities
• As needed, perform duties related to the general operations of the office
• Support the office staff with project management, organization, and analysis related to the content review
• Track student engagement with social media accounts to develop an optimal posting schedule, considering web traffic and customer engagement metrics.
• Meet regularly with the professional staff in the Office of Student Activities

Qualifications: (Education/Experience/Skills) 

• Excellent writing skills as well as the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively
• Experience with social media platforms and their management
• Experience with graphic design software (Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, etc.) and the basics of visual design.
• Experience and proficiency using DSLR cameras to take high-quality photographs (preferred)
• Demonstrated ability to manage projects effectively and meet deadlines
• Ability to work well independently and to collaborate effectively with staff
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Strong work ethic and reliability
• Desire to work in a professional office setting
• Positive attitude and interest in the OSA’s programs and resources
