What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant position at St. Peter's Health Partners?
We are currently recruiting for 2 full time Physician Assistants or Nurse Practitioners for our Tech Valley Sleep Center/Pulmonary Medicine office. This is a 32-40 hour week position (4 or 5 days/week) with the hours 8:15am-4:45pm. Our physician is willing to train candidates who do not have experience in this particular specialty.
Responsibilities
- Practice medicine with physician supervision including conducting examinations and writing prescriptions.
- Collaborate with physicians in managing acute and long-term medical needs of patients.
- Assess patient status by obtaining health history.
- Work with patients that have sleep disorders and also branch out into pulmonary medicine.
- Order/perform laboratory diagnostic and other screening tests.
- Treat illnesses and give injections
- Monitor therapies and provide continuity of care.
- Counsel patient/family on preventive health care.
- Participate in peer reviews, chart reviews, staff education, clinical guideline development and other continuing education.
