What are the responsibilities and job description for the Polysomnographic (Sleep Lab) Tech position at St Peter's Health?
JOB SUMMARY (overview of job): Under the supervision of a licensed physician, the polysomnography technician must gather artifact free polysomnographic data, perform analysis, and make adjustments to breathing related devices to patients with suspected sleep related breathing disorders. The polysomnography technician primarily gathers nighttime recordings. May perform overnight EEG's in conjunction with sleep studies.
KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE: 1-3 years sleep laboratory experience or equivalent.
EDUCATION: 1-3 years experience in sleep laboratory and/or respiratory therapy or related healthcare field.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY: CPR required, ACLS preferred. RPSGT required or must be enrolled in or have completed one of the following: A-STEP Online Self Study Modules; or CAAHEP Accredited Sleep Technology training program; or Electroneurodiagnostic (END) Program; or respiratory therapy add-on track for sleep technology.
