What are the responsibilities and job description for the Behavioral Health Specialist position at St. Xavier Home Health Care Services Inc?
St Xavier Home Care Service is looking for a behavioral health specialist to provide (Based on Qualification) PSR (Psychosocial Rehabilitation), and/or Planned Respite, and/or Caregiver/Family Advocacy and/or Support Services and/or Prevocational Servies
IMMEDIATE HIRE (All Languages)
Services are provided in the home in the Child, mainly afternoon.
Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR)
A rehabilitation to assist children and their families to relearn, restore or readjust what once was (skills, socialization, adjustment, community and behavioral health barriers)
Individual Staff Qualifications: $20.00 Per Hour
- High school diploma with a minimum of two years’ experience in children’s mental health, addiction and/or foster care; or
- A Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or in related human services; or
- A Master’s degree in social work, psychology, or in related human services
Planed Respite
A short term relief for the child and the caregiver to enhance the family’s primary ability to support the child’s functional, developmental and behavioral health. Considers the child’s interest and approval from the care giver which should be community based.
Individual Staff Qualifications $17.50 Per Hour
Minimum: high school diploma or equivalent and with appropriate skills and training
Caregiver/Family Advocacy and Support Services
Provided to prevent problems in the community setting as well as when the child is experiencing difficulty. Training for the child and the family, regarding methods for successful placement and community adjustment. Assistance to families during community transitions (from one school to another or placement) Integration in the community (schools, recreation centers etc.) Provide caregiver with techniques and information so they can better respond to the child.
Individual Staff Qualifications $30.00 Per Hour
- Preferred Qualifications: An individual employed by the agency with a Master’s degree in education, or a Master’s degree in a human services field plus one year of applicable experience
- Minimum Qualifications: An individual employed by the agency with a bachelor’s degree plus two years of related experience
Prevocational Services
Services are intended to develop and teach general skills. Examples Include, but are not limited to:
Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, co-workers and customers; generally accepted community workplace conduct and dress; ability to follow directions; workplace problem solving skills and strategies; proper use of job-related equipment and general workplace safety. Resume writing, interview techniques, role play and job application completion, exploring career options, identify community service opportunities that could lead to paid employment, school application and appply for finical aid
Prevocational Services may include volunteer work, such as learning and training activities that prepare a person for entry into the paid workforce.
Individual Qualifications $22.00 Per Hour
Minimum qualifications of an Associate’s degree with one year of human service experience
Preferred qualifications of a Bachelor’s degree with one year of experience in human services working with children/youth
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $17.50 - $30.00 per hour
