Our client is seeking a Cytotechnologist to join a well-established and growing pure sub-specialty practice with academic affiliation. Practice manages a freestanding outpatient Cancer Center with extensive chemotherapy administration, Radiation Oncology, Pharmacy, and Research department.

- Be responsible for staining, mounting, and studying cells of the human body, under a microscope, to Detect evidence of cancer, hormonal abnormalities, and other pathological conditions, following established standards and practices.
- Highly competent and motivated cytotechnologist with at least 5 years' experience of in screening non-GYN cytology and performing onsite adequacy.
- Collaborate with a pathologist to provide a timely diagnosis to allow physicians to provide appropriate treatment
- Maintain specimen integrity and patient identification of all samples examined.
- Enter report results into LIS, as applicable.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient test results by HIPPA regulations.
- Comply with all corporate, safety, quality control, and quality assurance standards.
- Comply with all local, federal, CLIA and CAP regulations
- Participate successfully in required training and competency assessment.
- Participate successfully in a CMS-approved proficiency-testing program annually, as applicable.
- Acquire and document the required numbers of continuing education hours annually.
- Perform other duties as assigned, (e. g., specimen processing, data entry) to include performing and documenting quality control rescreening.
- Maintain effective workflow and operations. Act as an expert resource within an area of specialty.
- Drive Quality Improvement initiatives and seeks ways to improve performance and service
- Perform maintenance of laboratory equipment as necessary
- Recommend and assists in reviewing Standard Operating Procedures for the designated area
- Assist in planning, ordering, and other operational activities within Anatomic Pathology
- A Bachelor's Degree in the field of Laboratory Science or equivalent under 1988
- Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) guidelines of high complexity
- Testing.
- Current license as a cytotechnologist issued by NY state
- Certified by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP)
- Completion of a Cytotechnologist program accredited by the Commission o Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs.
