Responsibilities
- Provide direct care and support to residents, ensuring their safety, well-being, and comfort.
- Assist residents in daily activities, such as meal planning and preparation, personal hygiene, medication management, and household chores.
- Foster a therapeutic and supportive environment by establishing positive relationships with residents, promoting open communication, and encouraging their active participation in their treatment plans.
- Implement and monitor individualized treatment plans, ensuring that goals and objectives are met.
- Facilitate group activities and therapy sessions, promoting socialization, skill-building, and emotional well-being.
- Observe and document resident behavior, progress, and any changes in mental or physical health, adhering to confidentiality and privacy policies.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, including therapists, nurses, and psychiatrists, to ensure effective communication and coordination of care.
- Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques when necessary, following established protocols and guidelines.
- Attend training sessions, workshops, and team meetings to enhance knowledge and skills in providing quality care.
- Adhere to all applicable regulations, policies, and procedures, including health and safety guidelines.
- High School Diploma and or a Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, or a related field is preferred; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Previous experience working in a residential setting or with individuals with mental health challenges is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish meaningful relationships with residents.
- Compassionate and patient nature, with a genuine desire to make a positive impact on the lives of others.
- Ability to adapt to changing needs and situations, while maintaining professionalism and composure.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to handle challenging situations effectively.
- Basic computer skills and proficiency in documenting and maintaining accurate records.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation, as some travel may be required.
