Job Summary:
The A-Shift Master Electrician is responsible for all electrical functions, including troubleshooting, repair, and providing technical support throughout the facility. The role requires proficiency in various skills, including electrical controls, fluid power, mechanical systems, and manufacturing processes. The Master Electrician will work with electrical control panels, transformers, power distribution systems, motors, and motor control devices. Safety is a primary focus, with responsibilities including adherence to personal safety and food safety regulations. This role is essential for maintaining the quality and legality of food production processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, including AC/DC circuits, industrial controls, and automation systems.
- Provide technical support across all operational phases, ensuring consistent, reliable operation of equipment and systems.
- Work with control panels, electrical power distribution systems, transformers, and motor control devices.
- Ensure compliance with electrical safety protocols, including lockout/tagout procedures.
- Manage electrical projects, including writing project scopes, adhering to NEC standards, and maintaining Client standards.
- Collaborate with team members at all levels, from hourly employees to upper management, to resolve technical issues.
- Maintain food safety, quality, and legality standards.
- Work with PLC systems for control, data collection, troubleshooting, and programming.
- Utilize SAP Plant Maintenance for documentation and tracking of maintenance activities.
Minimum Requirements:
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent is required. An associate degree in electronic technology or a related technical field is preferred, or equivalent education and experience (e.g., skilled trades programs or military training).
- Experience: Minimum of 4 years of experience in industrial maintenance and electrical controls.
- Certification: A valid electrician's license as required by state or local regulations.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficient in AC/DC circuits, industrial electrical systems, and lockout/tagout processes.
- Experience with PLC systems, including configuration, troubleshooting, and programming.
- Knowledge of electrical safety and maintenance of mechanical systems such as bearings, gears, clutches, belts, and seals.
- Ability to maintain and troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Computer Skills: Competent in Windows-based software such as Outlook, Excel, and Word; proficiency in SAP Plant Maintenance.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with team members and management.
- Problem-Solving Skills: High level of critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with servo motor and drive technologies, including AC/DC servo motors, variable frequency drives, and stepper systems.
- Basic knowledge of microcomputers and microprocessors and their interfacing with industrial systems.
- Experience in electrical project management, including writing project scopes and adhering to NEC standards.
- Background in instrumentation and electronic devices like solid-state drives and transducers.
Travel:
- 1–5 trips per year outside of the assigned location
