Job Description

Junior Database Analyst/SQL

Salary: $20-$25/hr

Employment Type: Temporary through October 2024 possible extension

Industry: Aerospace / DoD

Location: Sarasota, FL

Schedule: M-Th 6am-4:30pm or 7am-5:30pm

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Strong understanding of relational database concepts and SQL programming.
  • Proficiency in VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) for Excel and/or Access development.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in multidisciplinary aerospace teams.
  • Prior experience with aerospace databases, flight simulation software, or aircraft maintenance systems is a plus.
  • Familiarity with aerospace engineering principles and terminology is a plus.
  • SAP experience a plus
  • Reliable attendance is a MUST
  • Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident due to ITAR requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with aerospace engineers and data scientists to design, implement, and maintain database solutions tailored to aerospace applications. Develop database schemas, tables, and stored procedures to support aerospace engineering analyses, simulations, and mission planning.
  • Utilize SQL queries and data analysis techniques to extract insights from aerospace-related datasets. Analyze flight test data, sensor data, and telemetry data to evaluate aircraft performance, detect anomalies, and optimize operational efficiency.
  • Work closely with aerospace software developers to integrate database solutions with flight simulation software, mission planning tools, and aircraft maintenance systems. Develop VBA scripts and macros to automate data processing tasks within aerospace software environments.
  • Identify performance bottlenecks within aerospace databases and SQL queries. Implement optimization strategies such as indexing, query tuning, and database partitioning to enhance data processing speed and scalability for aerospace applications.
  • Document database designs, data processing workflows, and compliance requirements specific to the aerospace industry. Ensure that database solutions adhere to aerospace industry standards, regulatory guidelines, and security protocols.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional aerospace teams to understand project requirements, align database solutions with business objectives, and deliver high-quality results on time. Communicate effectively with stakeholders to provide updates on project status, challenges, and recommendations.
